Invitation to Play
Invitation to play means just that - setting up a simply activity for children that is inviting for them to come play with.
Some ideas can be:
Nature play - setting up a table with a tray that has fallen leaves, twigs, flowers, and stones, a jar with water and tongs.
Tea Party - real life tea cups and saucers, wooden food items, napkins, spoons, dolls sitting around the table on a chair or on the floor.

The aim of 'Invitation to Play' approach simply creates an environment for children to explore, investigate, discover, problem solve, work out theories of the world around them, use trial and error, and simply Play with curiosity. There may be no specific learning outcomes established for this type of play, however it allows children the opportunity to lead their play as they want to.
